Another collection by author and poet, S. Connors, “Writings from an Aspiring Author” combines a lifetime of work together in one place. It puts to test the thought that nothing is worthless as a writer, and it gathers a wide variety of writings from many different eras. Included are essays from childhood on simple family subjects, as well as some comical writings from a goofy teenager. There is also a collection of works from when the author was struggling, but still tried to write when he was able. Finally, S. Connors gathers his thoughts in the third part, as he examines his new future as an aspiring author – working his way through college with the admiration of his wife and family.
Together one can see the evolution of a writer. The works are unedited and exist as they were created on the dates recorded. As a result, the author’s voice remains consistent yet the technique he uses evolves throughout.
